Executive Director – Patient Access and Revenue Cycle (PARC) establishes current and long ‐ range product direction for the PARC applications delivered by HealthIT at VUMC. This individual leads product investment and support activities within the Patient Access and Revenue Cycle portfolio at VUMC. The Executive Director leads solution development, integration, implementation and maintenance activities such that they align with the needs of VUMC customers, both current and future.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Informatics or a related field is required.
Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Informatics or a related field is preferred .
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience and success in leading solutions development and integration teams in a healthcare setting with at least five (5) of those years in an Epic Patient Access and Revenue Cycle application environment.
Extensive knowledge of patient scheduling, ADT, patient movement, hospital and professional Billing and revenue cycle workflow in a large, complex, multi-hospital healthcare setting.
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to stay focused during stressful situations.
Demonstrates strong conflict-resolution skills.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively work with Senior Management and possesses the ability to identify when it is appropriate to escalate issues to the appropriate level of leadership.

Develops and maintains technical and business knowledge of systems in use or planned for use at VUMC.

Working closely with key business sponsors including the CFO, SVP of Revenue Cycle, hospital and clinic COOs, etc., key vendor executives and the CIOand CMIO, identifies new product opportunities at VUMC and defines key product requirements and drivers.
In collaboration with key business sponsors and HealthIT Portfolio Directors, develops product strategies in alignment with business and technology strategies.
Plans and manages the execution, monitoring and measurement of commercial and/or integration product strategies.
Leads and champions solutions development life cycle procedures and practices for the PARC portfolio at VUMC.
Delivers product and project guidance to the product organization, ensuring appropriate tradeoffs are being made and overall alignment with HealthIT and product strategy is maintained.
Promotes and leverages the HealthIT governance structure to prioritize PARC efforts and maintain business and HealthIT alignment.
Working closely with key business sponsors, defines application service levels and delivers to agreed upon standards.
Participates as a member of the HealthIT Executive team.
Working closely with key business sponsors, drives improvement into processes within Patient Access and Revenue Cycle portfolio.
Attract, retain and develop PARC team leaders and staff.
Keeps abreast of health care industry drivers and the organization's strategic objectives; and
Performs other duties as assigned by HealthIT Management.
Provides clear, appropriate and timely communication to promote a team environment throughout the department and organization.
Complies with VUMC's Client Service Standards and Credo.
Participates in education and professional development as necessary to maintain job-related skills and competencies.
Promotes VUMC in a positive light to the community.
