The Monroe Carell, JR Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Transplant Nurse Practitioner.
Full-time position; 40 hours a week; Days.
Pediatric Cardiac Transplant Service Summary :
The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with our cardiac transplant surgeons, physicians and nursing colleagues in both the outpatient clinic setting and on the inpatient setting in the PCICU, the pediatric cardiology floor. The NP will also coordinated care between the pediatric transplant team and other services when our patients are admitted. Responsibilities include the identification of appropriate transplant candidates upon referral, and monitoring the requirements for candidate evaluation. The Nurse Practitioner will also provide evaluation of medical, psychosocial and financial data for review by the team and patient selection committees. The NP will provide medical care for inpatient and outpatient heart transplant recipients as part of the Heart Transplant Team. The NP will be function as a resource for primary care providers and families, coordinating routine pediatric care within the setting of heart transplantation. Coordination with the multidisciplinary team is a vital component of the position in the evaluation of the peri-operative and post-operative transplant process. In addition to managing patient care, the Nurse Practitioner will develop and implement a learning program to meet family and patient needs. Compliance with organ procurement networks and organizations' policies and listing requirements is another important responsibility of the nurse practitioner as well as ongoing data collection and analysis.
Minimum Requirements :
Master's Degree in Nursing and Pediatric Primary Care program (PNP-PC) and/or Pediatric Acute Care program (PNP-AC) completion and certification; minimum of 2 years Pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience strongly preferred. Must have pediatric RN experience.
License Requirements :
Current Tennessee Registered Nurse License and APRN License with certification of fitness to prescribe controlled substances Background screens and education must be approved prior to employment.
