Mercyhealth is seeking a BC/BE Medical Geneticist to join and partner in building this growing program within our award-winning fully integrated health care delivery system.
Mercyhealth is a multi-regional, integrated health system based in Janesville, Wisconsin and Rockford, Illinois. Mercyhealth is comprised of five hospitals, more than 860 physicians, over 80 outpatient clinics and other services. In addition, we are investing $505 million in a new hospital and Level I Trauma Center in Rockford, Illinois, while also investing $50 million in renovations of Mercyhealth Hospital-Rockton Avenue (previously Rockford Memorial Hospital). Mercyhealth Genetic Services will be based at the new medical campus, which will have convenient access to surrounding communities via I-90. We will also be opening two new residency programs in 2019 – family medicine and internal medicine.

Supportive knowledgeable team based in Rockford and provides coverage for Rockford and Janesville. Team includes 3-4 genetic counselors, a metabolic dietitian, a genetic counseling assistant/insurance authorization specialist and a genetics secretary General Genetic services are provided and include outpatient and inpatient pediatric and adult genetic consultations, oncology genetics and prenatal genetics. We are also a referral site for the State Newborn Screening program. Expansion into cardiology genetics, gastrointestinal oncology genetics, and lab utilization is planned.
Experience strong working relationships with our maternal-fetal medicine, neonatology, obstetrics, pediatrics, pediatrics subspecialties, , and oncology services, as well as collaboration with pathology, laboratory services, cardiology, neurology, , rheumatology, - and other specialties.
Opportunities to work with the University of Illinois-College of Medicine in Rockford, as well as the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents.
