RDCS or RCS from ARDMS or CCI and RVT or RVS from ARDMS or CCI

JOB SUMMARY: This position requires both of the following: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registered cardiac sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) by CCI.
Performs various cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the chief technical sonographer.
Delivers excellent customer service utilizing Relationship Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES (MWA’S):
Performs 2D/Doppler echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms completely with good diagnostic quality in a timely manner. 20 %
Performs venous, arterial, carotid, renal, and transcranial Doppler studies completely with good diagnostic quality in a timely manner. 20 %
Analyzes test data and accurately communicates findings to reading cardiologists in oral and written form. 20 %
If trained by staff education and demonstrates competency; performs IV insertion and maintains IV competency skills on an annual basis. Administers image enhancing agent as ordered to optimize quality of echocardiogram. 15 %
Operates, troubleshoots, and appropriately requests repair of all testing equipment in a safe, appropriate, and knowledgeable manner 10 %
Maintains skills in all current procedures performed. Learns new skills and procedures as changes occur. 10 %
Maintains CPR certification. 5 %
Occurs under one-third of the time:
Exposure to blood borne pathogens
Hazardous waste and/or toxic/caustic chemicals
Fumes or airborne particles
Ability to perform light physical work, such as sitting, standing, walking and occasionally lifting/carrying objects weighing 10-20 pounds.
Ability to perform moderate physical work, such as pushing a 440 lb. ultrasound machine, moving patient beds and chairs, transferring patients from beds to wheelchair.
