Responsible for ensuring evidence based standards exist at all UHS acute care hospitals that provide women's services. Functioning as an advanced practice nurse/clinical specialist this individual is available to women's services units for clinical advice, guidance, and to provide resources regarding professional and regulatory standards.
Responsible for leading the execution of High Reliability Units at UHS sites, in collaboration with other members of the women's services leadership at the local facility sites. Working collaboratively with nursing executives within UHS, serves as key member of the development team for ongoing education of women's services nurses to ensure competency with national and international standards of care.
Working collaboratively with the Insurance/Risk Management department, provides expertise in evaluating if current standards were maintained and optimal care provided. If opportunities for improvement exist, information and resources are provided to the local facility.
Links evidence based practice to improvement strategies, using metrics to measure and assess improvement, facilitates inter-disciplinary teams, and implements tools to facilitate optimal performance and provision of family/patient centered care.
Serves as a mentor to women's services nursing leaders to promote excellence in clinical care and leadership.
