Responsibilities: As a Residential Counselor, you will play a key role in the larger treatment process by doing everything from reviewing information from the clinical staff and conducting psycho-educational groups to participating in milieu related meetings, performing case management duties, charting significant events that happen during client treatment and assisting with the admissions process.
Qualifications: You will need at least a high school diploma to be the right fit for this position, although at least two years of college is preferred, along with some experience in the healthcare field. You will also become licensed or certified as a chemical dependency counselor or registered to become licensed or certified within 90 days of hiring. Excellent verbal, written and organizational and interpersonal skills are key, as is a general knowledge of computer programs including MS Word and Excel. The perfect candidate must possess a valid California driver's license, have the ability to obtain a Class B license and be CPR/First Aid certified.
