Under the direction of the Enterprise Pharmacy Regional Director of Pharmacy the scope and breath of responsibility for the Assistant Director will vary in time and complexity. Demonstrates excellence in the supervision, planning and administration of pharmaceutical care services. Possesses and maintains the respect of the staff and function as a facilitator in a team-based environment. Clearly and effectively articulates in a timely fashion the mission, goals, directions, critical issues and values of the Geisinger Health System (GHS) to the employees who work within the respective area of responsibility. As importantly, the Assistant Director must effectively communicate the opinions, concerns, and suggestions of the staff up the chain of command to the Regional Director of Pharmacy. Must maintain a comprehensive and long-range system view of Geisinger's strategic plan, which constantly seeks to identify and take advantage of opportunities to improve the health and wellness of the patients and families served by the GHS. Effective accomplishment of these goals and objectives will require a close cooperative relationship with physicians and administrators who share responsibility for the performance at each hospital.
Mutually agreed upon goals and objectives will be established and reviewed on a yearly basis.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of science degree in pharmacy or doctorate of pharmacy degree from an
accredited college and current licensure by Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacist, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or project management role in an acute care setting required.
Pharmaceutical and administrative residencies may be considered in lieu of experience
