INTAKE COUNSELOR (PRN- Evenings & Full Time - Weekends)

The Intake Counselor will screen intake calls for appropriate level of care and conduct initial intake assessments to determine appropriateness for admission to facility or community referral. Responsibilities include:
Assists caller in providing recommendations for appropriate action including assessment and/or admission, or referral to an appropriate agency for further services when in-house services are inappropriate.
Conducts admissions assessments.
Completes thorough and timely admissions assessments. Communicates patient information, in adherence with HIPAA standards, with other treatment professionals and service areas, relevant to the provision ofservices upon admission.
Communicates effectively and demonstrates quality customer service with all internal and external customers.
Communicates professionally and with compassion.
Maintains working knowledge of current hospital and payer source criteria, custodial parent and guardian requirements, pre-certification processes, and referral sources.
Adheres to general performance standards for hospital employees, and maintains licensure and training requirements. Fosters productive teamwork within the integrated hospital system.
