Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescent through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. MHTs work under the direct supervision of a RN.
Provides hands-on physical care, supervision, crisis intervention, behavior management, & behavior modification, employing appropriate verbal and crisis intervention techniques.
Conducts patient rounds and reports deviations from the expectations and standards
Maintains professional therapeutic boundaries with patients and families.
