Financial Counselor Coordinator Responsible for the in-depth and detailed evaluation of patient financial history for both uninsured and underinsured inpatients and outpatients, for the purposes of determining eligibility for State and Federally funded financial assistance programs. Also, responsible for obtaining benefits and authorization verification of third-party coverage for all applicable scheduled and unscheduled accounts and documenting this information in a computer system. Responsible for ensuring insurance authorization for patient services has been obtained/verified, establishes a working relationship with all departments of GWUH and contractors, conducts timely follow-up/monitoring of accounts to ensure time frames are maintained according to statue. Provide support to an organizational culture that lends the highest degree of service excellence standards to all customer groups. Works closely with case management and communicate when clinical information regarding authorization is needed. |
