Job Description: The Market Quality Officer (MQO) will work collaboratively with the VHS Regional CMO and UHS Corporate CMO and other clinical and institutional leaders to guide the comprehensive, strategic and tactical planning and implementation of quality and safety programs across the VHS System. The MQO will provide leadership and direction for the development of a culture of safety and the measurement of quality of care that identify opportunities and strategies for performance improvement. He or she will have a critical role in ensuring that the practice documents quality metrics, such as PQRS, and meets or exceeds all standards. The MQO will report directly to the VHS Regional CMO. Responsible for the planning, organizing and direction of all administrative and functional activities related to the hospital's patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance programs. Serves as the Systems Market Quality Officer. Provides administrative leadership for the Quality and Patient Safety, Performance Improvement, Medical Staff department, Infection Control, as well as the Education Department and Case Management if applicable. Ensures Medical Center's compliance with external regulatory entities (i.e., TJC, CMS, Bureau of Licensure and Certification). Provides leadership in the fulfillment of UHS Risk Management and Quality initiatives and expectations.
