Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. Our specialized multidisciplinary treatment services are provided by highly trained psychiatrists, therapists, addiction counselors, nurses, and activities therapists. Panama City, FL is located on the panhandle of northwest Florida on beautiful St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The Director, Assessment & Referral is responsible for the administrative and clinical supervision of the admission/intake process, including effective utilization of the nursing and therapeutic processes. To provide quality care, establish standards of practice, provide effective fiscal management, and provide holistic assessments to establish the client's need and provide appropriate treatment based on the need whether it is to provide referral sources or admission to the facility.
Oversees and monitors the assessment/intake process to ensure quality assessments, appropriate admissions as well as appropriate referrals are provided
Responsible for Utilization Review functions to include insurance verification and obtaining initial authorization for services in a timely manner
Hire, supervise, evaluate and discipline staff and/or monitor supervisors' management of staff
Performs marketing, outreach and development function to maintain positive and open relations with all community resources
May perform Assessment Specialist duties as needed
