This position with the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance will be located at the Biomedical Sciences Building at 1005 Dr. D. B. Todd Jr. Blvd; Nashville, TN 37208. The Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance develops and supports collaborative initiatives. It has provided opportunities for collaboration between Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and for collaboration with projects in the community. In this pivotal, rewarding role, you will bring your project management skills to support complex research projects in community engaged research, population health science, and translational research in the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance (MVA) . Under direct supervision, you would oversee small projects or phases of larger projects. You would be responsible for coordinating activities of project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project. You would effectively coordinate the activities of each project team by becoming familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. You would demonstrate good communication, organization, and team building skills.
On a day to day basis, you would be
Project Planning – developing and tracking project milestones and deliverables, passing progress information to the project lead or PI.
Project Management - organizing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
Analysis - drawing appropriate and valid conclusions from data presented, sifting through data to determine the most significant elements. Identifying common elements and themes in situations and actions, recognizing cause and effect relationships.
Budget Administration: With direct supervision, monitoring subcontracted work costs and deliverables and managing those costs in relation to budgets, providing this information to the project lead or PI, and interacting with department administrative officers to initiate and monitor contracted or procured work on research projects
Actively participating in Team Meetings.
Readily volunteering to assist help MVA and project colleagues as needed.
Promoting constructive information sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration
Plans, develops, leads and executes the project in order to meet established goals, objectives and timelines.
Provides professional and/or technical leadership in the execution of day to day project activities.
Communicates within and across area(s) to maximize information sharing around progress, needs, interdependencies and/or accomplishments.
