The Clinical Manager will lead the educational program efforts for Midwest Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS) Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and will work with the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) team as well as the IHA Advocacy team. Responsibility for supporting the Director with the planning and coordination of clinical strategies, programs, and services to meet Institute objectives, utilizing data to drive performance improvement. This position will have a particular focus in the areas of quality improvement and patient safety and is accountable for implementation and day-to-day execution of programs with an emphasis on the creation of member advisories and educational tools. The position can be located in Naperville, Springfield, IL or remotely, but the incumbent will be required to visit the Naperville or Springfield office regularly.
Outline of Responsibilities
Acts as clinical lead, advocate, and support for initiatives led by the Institute.
Contributes to development of metrics, dashboard of activities and measures, and the communication strategy to members across the Institute and senior leadership.
Manages the implementation of new projects as they arise
Develops written communication, analytics, and presentations as needed.
Directly interfaces with hospitals, health systems and communities in order to advance the aims of the Institute and IHA.
Interacts with members (group, individual, on-site, off site), topic experts and staff, which may include travel to various locations across the state for regional and one-on-one hospital visits.
Applies performance and process improvement, change, and resource management principles when needed.
Assists in developing Institute quality, safety, and health policy agenda through formulating, planning, coordinating, facilitating, and monitoring programs and projects
Provides project status updates through the coordination and preparation of detailed reports to key project stakeholders, management, and senior leadership team.
Develops effective internal relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, management and other departments by providing assistance and coordinating and synchronizing efforts

RN required. Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum three years of experience in healthcare or membership organization and program management. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred or must be obtained within a year after hire. Exemplary interpersonal and relationship building skills with a commitment to service excellence. Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills. Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills required. Ability to travel approximately 10 – 20% of the time, throughout Illinois.
