Pediatric Medicine Acute Care (PMAC) - This 48-bed unit provides routine medical and nursing care for pediatric patients, infant to 18 years, with a wide range of medical diagnoses. These include but are not limited to Neurologic, Cardiac, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal and Hematologic disorders. The services provided on the pod are congruent with children whose medical/nursing needs are not of a critical nature. Examples of care we provide include telemetry monitoring, management of peripheral IVs and central lines, peritoneal dialysis, medication administration, video/eeg epilepsy monitoring, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration and patient education.
Your Role - This role will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. .
