Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry is accepting applications for our full time (40 hours/week) Psychometrist. In this role, you will be under the general supervision of a licensed psychologist, administer psychological / neuropsychological tests to patients; score, record, and organize test results; administer all activities of testing service. Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a Certified Psychological Assistant (CPA) in the State of Tennessee. Administer and score psychological and/or neuropsychological tests.
Carefully document behaviors and test responses of patients.
Complete testing, scoring, and data entry of psychological tests and present results to supervisor.
Be able to build rapport with patients and handle problems with compliance or behavior that might arise.
Maintain tests with up-to-date norms.
Date and identify each test protocol for each patient.
Time and record test results
Prepare reports to meet specified timeframes.
Perform activities related to the general administration of the testing services, including scheduling/confirming appointments, ordering tests, archiving files , etc.
Order testing materials as needed.
Assist with research studies, including giving tests to patients, tabulating and entering results, assisting with data analyses.
Have flexibility in performing testing in different clinical settings.
Accurately record research data into data bases.
Assist in training psychology interns and practicum students in neuropsychological examination.
Train students in assessment techniques and rapport building.
Point out problems that could occur during testing and how to appropriately manage such situations.
Train students in use of computer and hand scoring.
