ResponsibilitiesThe Principal LOA Analyst manages assigned case files and coordinates leaves of absence such as FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Workers' Comp, Military Leaves, etc., for employees served by UCLA Medical Center HR. Communicates with employees and supervisors on appropriate leave types and determines leave qualification and eligibility accordingly. Reporting to the Lead LOA Analyst, provides leave of absence consultation, answers questions regarding entitlements and provides information regarding available benefits. Provides managers and employees with assistance throughout the leave lifecycle. Manages case file for each assigned leave of absence in accordance with state, federal, University policy, and/or collective bargaining agreement. Follows through on each case and monitors leave duration to ensure receipt of relevant documentation, issues timely and accurate responses, and escalates when appropriate for requests extending beyond entitlement. In this role you will also coordinate with Disability Management for accommodation requests. Consults with Medical Center Employee/Labor Relations for guidance on complicated cases. Evaluates all LOA cases within the department to assure compliance and correctness. Identifies issues and works with Lead LOA Analyst and assigned analyst to correct. Validates that information within databases are accurate and timely. Escalates critical issues immediately to the Lead LOA Analyst and LOA Manager. Prepares and provides weekly metrics reports including number of LOAs, duration, and trends. Assists with facilitating education workshops for managers and employees.
QualificationsHR certification preferred Bachelor's degree preferred 3+ years' experience with LOA administration, including PDL, FML, CFRA, WC, Military and other leave entitlements Strong analytical and problem solving skills HR certification preferred
