The ECT Nurse Manager (RN)delivers quality general and psychiatric nursing care to patients for treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders. The ECT Registered Nurse Manager prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The ECT Registered Nurse Manager is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.
Formulates nursing plan of care within 8 hours of admission noting patient needs, age, behaviors and concerns identified through nursing assessment.Â
Follows ECT prep log making sure all steps have been noted and performed; i.e., precert, benefits verifications, calling anesthesia, M.D.â€™s office, patient, etc.
Supervising ECT staff by making assignments and monitoring patient care
Providing quality nursing care to meet identified patient outcomes
Carrying out assigned functions according to philosophy, goal and objectives of the hospital and program unit
Contributing as an active part of the treatment team
