Job Summary: The Senior Director of Medical Services plays a primary role in medical leadership for Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal). In conjunction with other members of the Medical Services team, the Senior Director oversees clinical services, including clinician training, new clinical initiatives, protocol updates, and quality management. As a member of the PPNorCal Strategic Leadership Team, the Senior Director represents PPNorCal in the medical community and serves as a knowledge resource to other affiliate departments.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current California NP, PA, CNM or other APC license.
Current CPR certificate.
Must have reliable automobile transportation and a valid California Driver's License and insurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in collaboration with the Medical Director and Associate Medical Director, to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient focused, and efficient medical services
Provide management and supervision for medical services department staff members
Participate in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of health center programs and services, including overseeing project management of these initiatives. Consults scientific literature and other relevant sources to support planning and provision of high quality care
Supports program directors in program development and continuous quality improvement
Work in collaboration with the Director of Quality Management and Medical Directors to develop and implement changes to clinical practice based on results of audits and identification of best practices to ensure safe and effective clinical practice.
Work in collaboration with Medical Services leadership team to establish clinical competency standards, staffing guidelines, scope of practice, and productivity expectations of licensed staff to ensure safe clinical practice
Oversee and participate in annual evaluation process for affiliate clinicians
Oversee clinical training of clinicians and nurses and continuing education and skill development for clinical workforce.
Assist in developing and implementing clinical services strategic and operational plans to support PPNorCal goals in conjunction with managers, Lead Clinicians and other department representatives and resources
Serve as knowledge resource to Clinicians, Registered Nurses and center staff regarding medical protocols and medical management issues
Assist in the development and implementation of Medical Standards and Guidelines. Develop and maintain appropriate clinical policies and procedures to support the Medical Standards and Guidelines
Assist in preparing health center and Medical Services staff for scheduled and un-scheduled audits, including PPFA accreditation.
In collaboration with client services and human resources departments, assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of licensed staff
Along with Medical Directors, provide clinical and operational oversight for clinical research program
Along with Medical Directors, serve as public face of PPNorCal clinical leadership by attending occasional events on weekends or evenings. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners.
Develop and maintain relationships with all health centers, requiring regular travel to Bay Area centers and occasional travel to remote centers
Provide clinical care throughout the affiliate on an as needed basis
Along with Medical Directors, oversee planning, content and facilitation of clinician meetings
Manage preceptorship and training requests from community partners
