Mary Washington Healthcare – ranked #2 in the DC area by U.S. News & World Report – has an excellent opportunity for a Manager, Pharmacy Operations at Mary Washington Hospital, our Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center.
Assisting the Pharmacy Director with the overall day-to-day management of the Pharmacy operations and staff (Technicians and Pharmacists), you will assume leadership accountability and responsibility for clinical operations and supervision of drug distribution. Providing quality care, resource management, program development, customer service and facilities management, you will manage the operations of the pharmacy in a cost-effective manner, including planning for new services.
In addition to directing the day-to-day operations, delegating responsibility and authority for providing services to ensure that adequate resources are available, you will also:
Develop ways to reduce and control pharmacy and hospital expenses
Assist the Director in developing and implementing an operation budget and strategic goals
Recruit, hire, develop, schedule and supervise staff
Develop performance standards and conduct performance appraisals and maintain staff competence
Prepare and revise policies and procedures and implement approved changes
Assist the Pharmacy Director with the medication safety program
In addition to being a graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy, M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy, or a Pharm.D. Degree, ideal candidates will have:
Pharmacy licensure in the state of Virginia
One to two years of experience in a supervisory/management capacity
Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency is preferred with a minimum of three years of experience in an acute care hospital system is preferred
