The Assistant Director focuses on improving the acute care hospitalâ€™s quality, service and cost performance by identifying key opportunities to support strategic initiatives and by providing advice, coaching and project management to lead and coordinate improvement initiatives.Â May lead division-wide initiatives and will coordinate initiatives and projects led by other Project Leaders, Project Managers, Lead Management Engineers or Senior Management Engineers.Â . Functions as a Subject Matter Expert in Lean Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Change Leadership and Project Management. Represents Performance and Process Improvement to Regional Vice Presidents, Acute Care Hospitals Executives and other UHS leadership.Â Manages sustainment efforts for projects across the spectrum of hospitals.Â Directs, mentors and coaches Performance and Process Improvement team members in Lean Six Sigma, Change Management and Project management.Â Drives the implementation of division-wide best practices.Â Â
Essential Job Duties:
Serves as Subject Matter Expert Lean Lean Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Change Leadership and Project Management.
Activities: Functions as a resource for Performance & Process Improvement, Pharmacy, and Laboratory and Radiology staff.Â Responsible for educating both PPI staff and Acute Care hospital staff in process improvement methodologies.Â Documents savings, provides financial information, and reviews submitted protocols for additional opportunities. Develops Best Demonstrated Practice strategies.Â Recognizes existing facility Best Demonstrated Practices, educates hospital areas in implementation of identified best practices, and tracks savings identified through implementation of best practices.Â
Directs, mentors and coaches Performance and Process Improvement team members in Lean Six Sigma, Change Management and Project management.Â
Activities:Â Directs the professional activities of Project Leaders, Lead Management Engineers, Senior Management Engineers and other staff. Assists in the setting or performance standards and professional practice.Â Provide feedback and coaching on performance both in technical areas such as Lean Six Sigma or project management and human interactions related to change management.
Leads division-wide initiatives and coordinates initiatives and projects led by other Project Leaders, Project Managers, Lead Management Engineers or Senior management engineers, etc. representing Performance and Process Improvement to Regional Vice Presidents, Acute Care Hospitals Executives and other UHS leadership.Â
Activities: Leads Division-wide initiatives by developing improvement plans, project plans and by executing on projects to drive improved processes into UHS Acute Care organizations.Â Coordinates initiatives and projects using the project management software (currently EON) to track multiple engagements in multiple facilities simultaneously. Works with Hospital and UHS executives to ensure that projects stay on-track, achieve their intended outcomes and sustain their improvement performance.Â Resolves issues regarding PPI performance with Hospital executives.
Drives implementation and sustainment efforts.
Â Works with facilities to plans projects and assists with scheduling.Â Directs allocated team members in setting up and executing on project plans, agendas and Work-Outs/Kaizens and meeting. Mobilizes resources required by the opportunities. Collaborates with the Corporate and Facility leaders on the hand off and completion of all initiatives. Develops and directs the development of presentations, work plans, timelines and milestones. Assumes initial responsibility for measuring, tracking, monitoring, and reporting initiatives. Develops status updates.
