Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed freestanding behavioral health hospital offering psychiatric care for adults and adolescents. Centrally located in Littleton, the facility is easily accessible to families throughout the Front Range and just minutes from surrounding communities.
The staff development coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating nursing department scheduling, coordinating regulatory requirements.Â Coordinating new hire orientation, and performing other duties related to nursing administration in conjunction with human resources.Â Develop and execute a strong staff training program along with regulatory required in-services to increase skill sets of the nursing department staff. Providing opportunities for the formal and informal growth and development of clinical and non-clinical staff while working closely with other members of the nursing management team.
1.Â Â Â Â Â Â Develops and maintains monthly schedules for patient care units and communicates needs to CNO and managers.Â Coordinates afterhours staffing with nursing supervisors.
2.Â Â Â Â Â Â Develops and maintains daily schedules for each patient care unit.Â
3.Â Â Â Â Â Â Utilizes employee control report and daily staffing grid to ensure staffing is within budgetary guidelines.
4.Â Â Â Â Â Â Provides staffing reports to administration as required.
5.Â Â Â Â Â Â Answers routine questions from applicants and employees regarding staffing.
6.Â Â Â Â Â Â Assists, coordinates and implements the nursing orientation process.Â
7.Â Â Â Â Â Â May require on call for staffing related issues after normal business hours.
8.Â Â Â Â Â Â Complies with all Federal, State, and Joint Commission regulatory guidelines regarding staffing.
9.Â Â Â Â Â Â Work as staff on any and all patient care units or assist with programming as needed.
10.Â Â Coordinate and provide CPR, HWC, Verbal D. and other required training for facility employees as requested.
11.Â Â Responsible for agency staff tracking and reporting.
12.Â Â Facilitation of monthly nursing department meetings as requested.
13.Â Â Facilitates FLU shot program annually and tracks compliance.
