The New Product Introduction Director leads the New Product Introduction (NPI) team with responsibility for system-wide value analysis and new product introduction oversight and management for all clinical products, services and technology (i.e. Medical Surgical, Labs, Surgical, Infection Prevention, Cardiovascular, Radiology/Imaging, Pediatrics, ER, et al) utilized for continued quality patient care across all of the Baylor Scott and White Health facilities. This Director works collaboratively across the organization to set priorities and strategy for New Product Introduction and is responsible for facilitating the system wide value analysis/NPI process with the goal of providing high quality, safe, patient-centered and cost-effective products, services and technology. The NPI process requires the establishment and adherence to a streamlined method for standardizing and monitoring products, services and technology selection, utilization and costs. The New Product Introduction Director will also provide clinical and strategic expertise that facilitates supply expense management while continuously improving quality, safety and satisfaction, through clinical engagement. He / She will have direct management of the Clinical Value Analysis Managers and will serve as a key facilitator and educator the New Product Introduction process. This individual works strategically and tactically with his / her team to identify, analyze, decide and implement best practices and expense management initiatives as it relates to all clinical products, services and technology across Baylor Scott and White Health. He / She works very closely with their Strategic Sourcing partners for such purchases with focus on overall best value; provides assistance in developing operational and strategic initiatives; and enforces the value analysis and NPI process within the sourcing and contracting strategies for all respective BSWH spend categories. Additionally, the New Product Introduction Director is responsible for overseeing all phases of value analysis and new product introduction and requires skills and knowledge necessary to identify value opportunities, create competitive environments through evidenced-based clinical research and assure timely and seamless availability of products and services to meet the company’s objectives.
Other essential functions of this role include:
Provide strategic and tactical guidance for all value analysis/NPI initiatives and engage the Strategic Sourcing staff based on best practices observed both within System, in and outside of industry.
Lead, direct and delegate the BSWH Value Analysis service line teams and subcommittees to include clinical and financial strategies and execution which include agendas, slide decks, meeting minutes and Clinician and Physician engagement.
Provide clinical research and consult with the Strategic Sourcing in the development & execution of service line sourcing strategies.
Refine the value analysis and NPI process and engage with executive and key leaders to drive compliance to the value analysis/NPI process and policy.
Collaborate with subject matter experts from various organizations within the system to provide the value analysis/NPI knowledge and feedback as part of the category sourcing requirements and supplier evaluation criteria.
The ideal candidate for the Director New Product Introduction role is detail-oriented, strategic, and analytical, has clinical and value analysis experience and is adept at relating to and communicating with all levels of leadership. In addition, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of financial concepts, excellent problem solving skills, strong business acumen in a large complex healthcare system and proven experience in leading teams, managing process change and collaborating across multiple facilities and disciplines.

10+ years of experience required
Experience in Supply Chain, Value Analysis, New Product Introduction, Evidenced-based Research and Registered Nursing or Physician experience serving multiple clinical service lines and areas of an organization is strongly desired.
Certified Materials Resource Professional required
