Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community.Â We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center.Â The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.Â We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health.Â The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Education Coordinator. The Education Coordinator provides support in the educational instruction of patients K-12 in order to maintain or optimize current educational status.
Key Responsibilities Includes:
Maintains follow up with schools and families to determine necessary accommodations to improve patientsâ€™ academic performance, attendance, social performance, to include tutoring, curriculum modifications, etc.
Provides support and individualized educational services directed towards assisting students to sustain academic and pro-social skills needed to successfully transition into their home, school, employment and community.
Maintains all instructional duties, through appropriate preparation, assignments and resource material.
Maintains an orderly classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Establishes rapport and develops an effective working relationship with other hospital personnel.
Motivates students to complete all goals related to learning objectives.
Encourages good work habits and develops and implements teaching strategies which foster self-discipline and accomplishing academic and behavioral goals.
Acts as the liaison between the hospital school teachers and director, including but not limited to KPH and ISDâ€™s Teachers on operational initiatives including special events, etc.
Serves as an appropriate role model for students.
Provides each student with educational support five (5) days a week.
Reinforces the importance of education and positive environment as fundamental guiding principles.
Assists the youth in developing anger management skills, self-management skills, and educational skills and provides alternative
