Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community.Â We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center.Â The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.Â We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health.Â The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Nursing Supervisor (Nights). The Nursing Supervisor provides leadership toÂ nursing staff in order to insure safe and high quality patient care for psychiatric patients and acts as a member of the hospital-wide nurse management team.
To provide leadership and direction, on his/her assigned shift, to other registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and mental health technicians.
To insure appropriate staffing for number and acuity of patients on assigned shift, utilizing float pool and agency staff, as needed.
To participate in the nurse management team by assisting in the development of the hospitalâ€™s philosophy of nursing and Policies and Procedures.
To recognize signs and symptoms of chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
To recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
To assist CNO and Human Resources in determining educational needs of unit staff, to assist in the design and implementation of training of unit staff and to evaluatetraining effectiveness.
To insure the timely evaluation of assigned float pool staff and to give input into the evaluation of staff members on assigned shift.
To verify appropriate licensure, certification, orientation and evaluation of agency staff working on assigned shift.
To admit and discharge patients after hours in accordance with hospital Policies and Procedures.
To obtain medication from pharmacy after hours in accordance with established procedures.
To insure proper handling and documentation of all emergencies, incidents, special procedures and patient complaints during assigned shift.
To communicate with administrator-on-call about admissions and incidents.
Serves as nursing on-call administrator on a rotating basis.
