Responsible for maintaining the American College of Surgeons' accreditation of the cancer program; maintaining the integrity of the cancer registry, coordinating weekly cancer conferences, quality control of cancer registry data, preparing patient care evaluation studies and outcomes, publishing the cancer program annual report, assisting the Cancer Registry Abstractors as needed; performing leadership and supervisory duties over the Cancer Registry Department, and performing other duties as required.
BS in Health Information Management; or Associate of Science in Health Information Technology, or BS degree in Biology or other health care field, BS Degree to be completed within one year of start date if not currently obtained.
Training in medical terminology; anatomy and physiology preferred.
Hospital cancer registry experience preferred;
RRA or ART preferred; RN or RN, BSN equivalent degree considered.
Basic computer knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
