Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood,IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents,adults and their families.Â Â
SBHS has a full-time Partial Hospitalization ProgramÂ BilingualÂ Therapist position available.Â The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:Â The PHP Therapist is responsible for performing social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs while enabling them through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social services for consumers/families receiving care.Â The PHP therapist will provide crisis intervention, individual therapy, short-term family therapy, group therapy, treatment planning and discharge planning. The therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of consumerâ€™s internal/external support systems and responding effectively to requests for information on a wide range of human service needs.Â Must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and possess a thorough working knowledge of the State of Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Act.Â Must be able to effectively work with patients of any age population and demonstrate an understanding of normal growth and development as well as developmental stages, and must possess knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
