You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse - NICU.
You’re generous with your compassion, your empathy and especially your voice, because your opinion matters.
You’re equally comfortable with patients, families, colleagues, mentors and technology.
You know how to move fast. You know how to stay organized. You know how to have fun.
You’re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.
St. Vincent Healthcare is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 286-bed level II trauma center has provided care in Montana and the surrounding area since 1898.
Babies who are premature or have health issues need specialized care and our NICU team provides exceptional patient care. Our team has the training, technology, TLC and transport options to care for the tiniest of patients. We are a 20 bed level III NICU providing comprehensive, intensive and progressive care for premature infants and critically ill newborns with respiratory distress, infections, birth defects and special developmental needs.
Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation classes, counseling, PTO, and financial wellness. Our organization is invested in your growth and learning and offers multiple opportunities for career advancement, scholarships, and tuition reimbursement.
We have opportunities to grow within the department. Whether it is the NICU flight team, advancing clinical practice or leadership.
Together we’ll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We’ll honor each other’s dignity and surpass the standards we set. We’ll encourage joy, demand safety and take pride in our integrity.
We’ll laugh at each other’s jokes (even the bad ones). We’ll hello and high five.
We’ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.
We are passionate about what we do and care about one another as a family, not only in the work environment yet outside of work.
We’re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.
As an experienced NICU you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:
Adapt to quickly changing dynamic situations calmly and effectively
Engage with families and focus on family centered care
All staff do 2 call shift per month in six hour increments and enjoy a “self-scheduling” model for shift sign ups
Collaborate and communicate professionally with peers and providers as you perform your work
Provide high quality, holistic care with the best interest and well-being of patients in mind
Comply with procedural and documentation guidelines
Continually expand your knowledge
Help improve our facility and safety programs through shared decision making
Follow hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
ASN from an accredited program
BSN from an accredited program required within 48 months of hire
Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana
At least 1 year NICU RN Experience, preferred
Your next move
