Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking an experienced RNÂ Supervisor render professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs.Â Practice ongoing patient assessment, evaluation and update of patient care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicates pertinent data to other service areas as needed.Â Administer medications appropriately and document all data accurately according to facility policy.Â Participate in formulation of individual treatment plans for all patients and implements plan according to facility policy.Â
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:Â
Serves as Nursing Administration presence on assigned shift.
Manage medication of patients by ensuring physician orders are implemented, evaluated and documented and by assuring proper administrationÂ of medication to each patient.Â Report any dosages or physicianâ€™s orders in question to the Nursing Supervisor.
Observe and report the patientâ€™s signs, symptoms, and behaviors and any subsequent treatment and/or interventions and records same in the medical record according to facility policy.
Provide individual instruction to patients and their families concerning medications, health, and medical needs.
Participate in and/or supervises and documents special treatment procedures, progressive interventions and de-escalation of patients according toÂ facility policy.
Schedule nursing unit staff, assuring an appropriate staffing ration based on patient acuity and adhering to nursing department FTE standards.
Maintain appropriate relationships with patients by treating them in a respectful manner at all times, by eliciting patientsâ€™ interest and cooperation, and by maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Assist with personnel management duties including screening and selection of nursing staff, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations and giving feedback to DON and Human Resources office.
Monitor the day-to-day provision of psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care, assisting on the unit as necessary, and communicating problems/issues with DON as they occur.
