Provides patient care, clerical, and environmental control services in a clinical practice according to established policies and procedures. Is the role model and informal leader for other medical assistants in the department Utilizes information to continuously improve patient care and practice to enhance outcomes including communication to physicians regarding patient concerns and follow-up appointments, referrals maintenance, and emphasis on patient flow. Communicates/collaborates with physicians and staff to provide coordinated, safe and compassionate care for patients. Participates in continuing education activities that enhance employee's professional abilities and ensure up-to-date patient care.
Experience: New Medical Assistant graduate enrolled in Inova Medical Assistant Fellowship or 6 months equivalent experience
Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program with a diploma designation with consistent level of known leadership abilities and progressive education in the health care field.
Certification: BLS, Certified as a Medical Assistant
Special Skills: Previous experience in a OB/GYN and /or Pedatric practice preferred but not required. Medical terminology required. Fluency in English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills mandatory.
Falls Church office primary work location but will need to travel to Herndon/Mount Vernon satellite offices as needed.
