This position performs a variety of office support functions for the Division of Cardiology, Non-Invasive Cardiology, Vascular Lab, and Cardiac Diagnostic Center. This person also supports the Chief of the Division of Cardiology, Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Medical Director of Electrophysiology, Administrative Director of Cardiovascular Services, and the Manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology. He/she coordinates physician coverage schedules and their appropriate time keeping for payment. He/she schedules meetings and books rooms, creates memos in a professional manner, distributes pertinent information internally and externally in a timely fashion, and records meeting minutes. He/she is also responsible for front end operations that include, greeting patients and physicians, covering phones, scheduling patient appointments, and communicating schedules accordingly to other departments. Best candidate will be a team player, diplomatic, assertive, and a self- starter. Other key attributes are: the ability to adapt to a high paced environment in a highly specialized procedural and clinical area of the hospital. He/she will be resourceful, a quick learner, detail oriented, creative, and eager to assist. Required is a strong knowledge of MS Office with a sound ability to manipulate large bodies of data and think critically. Friendly and professional demeanor is required with strong relationship building skills necessary to interact with patients, physicians, administration, and hospital staff.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Prior experience in a Health related field, preferably a hospital department or physician practice required. 2-3 years secretarial experience with extensive word processing skills including spreadsheets, forms and documents. Typing over 40 wpm. Familiarity with medical terminology.Bilingual preferred.
