Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System has a dedicated inpatient unit for older adults experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. The primary focus of the unit is treating older adults experiencing depression, dementia, and behavioral changes, with a goal of assisting in regaining a sense of health and well-being. The therapist serves as a key member of the treatment team providing direct clinical services in the form of individual, family, and group therapy. In addition, the therapist is responsible for completing psychosocial evaluations, developing and implementing master treatment plans, and working with the treatment team to provide appropriate discharges. The therapist also participates in patient care team meetings, working with the team to continuously develop improved programing for our patients. Strengths and qualities needed to successfully complete the job include: excellent communication, time management, organization, ability to multitask, and flexibility.
