he Sterile Processing Technician 2 supports all departments of the Medical Center in the coordination of surgical instrumentation and cleaning activities. Additional responsibilities include the provision of organizational, communication and assertive skills necessary to facilitate the flow of sterile processing activities. These responsibilities include provision of maintenance of instruments, sterility process, maintenance of anesthesia supplies and carts, LDRP/Surgical Services case picking, room set-ups for surgical services, and support of resources to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and ancillary personnel. Responsible for the utilization and maintenance of surgical supplies, order entry functions, and orientation/training of new personnel and collaboration with the healthcare team towards achieving fiscal and quality care goals and of outcomes for the divisions within surgical services. This position also supports the O.R. Materials Coordinator and Director of Surgical Services in the implementation of surgical services activities.
Experience: Two years health care experience required. Expertise with computer systems and instrument processing and supply ordering.. Knowledge of sterility standards, AAMI and AORN Knowledge of case cart delivery systems Knowledge of management of inventory control
Education/License/Certification: College education, preferred Certification highly preferred
