University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont’s academic medical center and founding member of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks a Technical Specialist Laboratory – Blood Bank.
The Blood Bank Technical Specialist oversees the technical and regulatory aspects of the Blood Bank and an autologous-only Stem Cell Processing Laboratory, providing expertise and guidance to laboratory staff to maintain high quality laboratory operations and to maintain compliance with FDA, AABB, CAP, and FACT requirements. The Technical Specialist works in a daily, operational testing environment and is responsible for providing guidance in the adoption of new technologies and methods, and the implementation of new policies and procedures to routine performance. The Technical Specialist also works collaboratively with other areas of the medical center and health network.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR 4 year undergraduate degree with post baccalaureate certification in Clinical laboratory Science. Preference will be given to applicants with supervisory or laboratory management experience and/or experience with regulatory and accreditation organizations.
