Responsible for all aspects of Radiology Services / Interventional Radiology nursing; including assessment, evaluation, and coordination of nursing care. The RN is responsible for performing patient assessment, IV conscious sedation, patient/family teaching and triage. Provides primary clinical support to the provider and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition. Follows up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and care.
Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned clinical area. Responsible for all regulatory requirements that apply to nursing within Radiology Services.
Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS and unit specific Service Standards.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System.
Reports directly to the Director of GLH Imaging. Team Leader Radiology Services Nursing

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduated from an approved school of nursing. Requires a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Pennsylvania or eligible for licensure.
Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Critical care and or pediatric experience preferred.
