Excellent opportunity in New Jersey helping our Veterans! Recruitment/Relocation Incentives are authorized for this position. We are in need of 2–Nurse Practitioners to help our Veterans. These positions are located at the East Orange Campus of the VA New Jersey Health Care System. The Nurse Practitioners demonstrate leadership, experience and creative approaches in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. The selectees are accountable for adhering to established policies and standards of care and practice. The NP is responsible for administration of patient clinical care processes, managing and coordinating all related activities. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing care to patients assigned to Surgical-Oncology/Cancer screening clinics/units. The population served includes veterans with ages ranging from 18 to over 85. The veterans have various acute and/or chronic medical problems or deviations from health including diagnoses such as: oropharyngeal, skin and GI malignancies, screening/prevention for oral, breast, colon, prostate and skin cancers, tobacco and alcohol dependence. Nurse Practitioners at the VA New Jersey Health Care System perform assessments of patients including history taking and physical examination prior to prescribing based on the individual needs of patients in accordance with rights and privileges granted through their APN licensure and certification.
