The Lead Behavior Intervention Specialist provides leadership to the BIS and support team by providing milieu management to ensure a safe, supportive environment where students who have become disruptive to the class or school community are empowered to work through difficult situations in order to return to class. The person in this position provides support in classroom management and in-house suspension management. Duties also include preparing reports, ensuring accurate documentation of time outs, restraints, and use of seclusion. The Lead BIS routinely evaluates and trains staff in the implementation of intervention strategies. Other responsibilities include thorough knowledge of corporate crisis management standards and policy compliance.
