Garland Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Fulltime Nights Registered Nurse (RN) for Admissions/ Intake with a strong area of expertise with admissions to join our team in developing quality services consistent with our philosophy to serve Garland and the surrounding communities. Our Admission RN is responsible for assuring that the total nursing admission of patients, including hand-off report to the Charge RN / House Supervisor on the unit. She/he utilizes the nursing process and adheres to established standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policy, goals and objectives in executing this responsibility. This position also assures that admissions are managed in a timely and courteous manner to expedite in-processing time while maximizing unit and hospital safety. The Admission RN may also be required to work a unit, assist with meal breaks and/or visitation as directed by the House Supervisor and Director of Intake.
Under the direction of the Admissions Director, the Admissions RN will provide exceptional care by assisting adult and geriatric patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs and follow guidelines of EMTALA.
