JOB TITLE: Faculty LOCATION: Lewistown Hospital DEPARTMENT: School of Nursing WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Part Time (0.6 FTE)
JOB SUMMARY: Provides didactic and clinical instruction to groups of students according to regulatory and accreditation guidelines and academic standards. Prepares course syllabus according to School of Nursing guidelines. Orders appropriate textbooks and supplies in accordance with School of Nursing policies and the policies of Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. Participates in curriculum development and evaluation. Participates in program / course / student evaluations, as well as faculty / student body committees. Assists with the advisement of students and applicants.
Responsible for ensuring the very best student nurse experience by optimizing all educational interaction. Fosters a positive learning environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GLH Service Standards.
Directly accountable to the Director of School of Nursing.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A Master’s degree in Nursing is required. A BSN may be accepted if enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program with a plan to graduate within five (5) years of hire.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in good standing by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Experience in Nursing Practice in the clinical area taught.
Experience in Nursing Education preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Possesses basic computer skills.
Must be able to travel to clinical sites as necessary.
Must pass a pre-employment physician exam. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigations, reference inquires and validation of credentials from primary sources.
Must be capable of performing essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation.

GEISINGER-LEWISTOWN HOSPITAL: is a 123-bed acute care community hospital serving the 80,000 residents of Mifflin and Juniata counties and members of the contiguous counties of Centre, Perry, Snyder, and Huntingdon.
