Provides for the centralized management of Scheduling Services operations within the office of Clinical Access Management. Manages, develops, and implements programs to ensure productive and efficient departmental operations. This responsibility includes; oversight of the seamless and accurate scheduling of services for the System’s patient/provider population, achieving productivity and quality metrics, resource allocation, process improvement, coordination of training, ensuring policy development and updates, and relationship building with clinical operations.
Manages assigned FTEs in regard to assigned patient access functions
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*1. Manages the System-wide scheduling services functions within the office of Clinical Access Management.
*2. Participates in the development of performance and quality standards for the Scheduling Services Specialists, evaluates actual performance against standards and implements action plans for improvements.
*3. Manages resource allocation in order to realize efficient production.
*4. Builds relationships with clinical operations leadership to ensure strong communication and collaboration of initiatives.
*5. Oversees the development of departmental training and policies to ensure goals and the program are aligned with operational goals.
*6. Maintains approval responsibility for recruitment, hiring, discipline and counseling of staff. Develops and maintains job descriptions for existing and additional staffing needs. Performs performance appraisals on direct reports.
*7. Develops various technological initiatives in support of business process improvements.
8. Provides strategic direction related to the other Patient Access and Revenue Cycle functions to ensure patient access and organizational targets are achieved. .
9. Assists in the preparation of annual department budgets
10. Provide input in regard to employee issues when the need arises.
11. Performs other duties as required or assigned to which the employee is qualified to perform.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.A., B.S. or Master's in related field required. An additional five (5) years of supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a multi-practice facility required. Experience preferred within a similar size or volume system.
Significant experience with payers, providers, hospitals and physicians and understand the commensurate requirements for facilitating scheduling services activity and customer service issues required.
Experience within a call center preferred.
