This brand new, 38-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be opening in the Summer of 2019 and we are seeking an energetic, creative and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team now and help us meet the growing demand for intensive rehabilitation services.

The Nurse Manager (NM) functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department. The NM in collaboration with the CCO and leadership team assists to implement, interpret and assure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory and accreditation standards. The NM directly supervises the charge nurses and other co-workers as assigned. The NM is responsible for implementing hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters. The NM reinforces the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions.
Responsible for providing professional working conditions for employees.
Ensures the nursing department staff performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Assists with development of the budget for the nursing department in collaboration with the CCO, CEO and Controller. Manages costs associated with personnel, equipment and supplies.
Responsible for staffing plans, management of nursing hours per patient day and quality of work of nursing staff.
Assists staff with developing unit goals on an annual basis.
Accountability eith respect to staffing and scheduling.
Enforces compliance of the nursing department with education/in-service requirements/orientation and competencies.
Leads monthly staff meetings and communicates information to/from management and leadership.
Promotes rehabilitation nursing philosophy and practice; encourages staff development, including acquisition of CRRN for qualified registered nurses.
Assists to review and evaluate risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction results, and outcomes in order to continually improve performance and outcomes; communicates this information to the nursing department.
Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, and performance evaluations of staff in the nursing department.
Investigates, counsels and disciplines staff when appropriate.
A ssures occurrence of appropriate documentation, including documentation of medical necessity, by staff in medical records; monitors completion and revisions to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
Assures leadership and/or staff attendance at committee meetings, CQPI and management meetings, as appropriate.
Assures completion of annual education requirements and performance evaluations.
Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives to personnel.
Resolves personnel concerns at the departmental level.
Assures education and training is provided to nursing co-workers on Functional Independent Measure (FIM); assures timely and accurate FIM assessments and scoring is performed.
Assures nursing attendance and participation in team conferences.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety, infection control and emergency management.
Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Assures departments adhere to dress code, appearances are neat and clean, and proper identification is worn at all times.
Ensures departments comply with patient confidentiality at all times.
Maintains, and assures that staff maintains, good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff.
Assures representation of the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital.
Graduate of accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in NJ required. Master's degree preferred.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
Minimum of two years of previous nursing management required.
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required.
